On September 17, 2026, as part of the ‘Health and Sanitation Day’ of the 2026 Local Government Week, the Tissamaharama Pradeshiya Sabha organized a music therapy program for expectant mothers at the Council’s meeting hall; the program was facilitated by Mr. Sanjaya de Silva, Convener of the ‘Ruhunu Sahurdayo’ organization.

Furthermore, this program was conducted with the participation of the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Tissamaharama Pradeshiya Sabha, along with other council members; the Tissamaharama Medical Officer of Health; the Secretary and other officials of the Tissamaharama Pradeshiya Sabha; and the health staff of the Tissamaharama Base Hospital.
