Welfare Services
The purpose of this program is to provide services for the welfare of the public.
A very old library service has been established in Tissamaharama Pradeshiya Sabha for children and adults who are in school and higher education. Under the supervision of the Community Development Officer, the reader’s club and the local council jointly fulfill a great social mission.
Educational Psychology, Sociology, Nakshatra etc. are full of books provided for the library service or from the council fund, in addition to the councilor’s allocation donations, the book is also the book received for the aid. Various media newspapers, magazines, art, cinema etc. daily newspapers will also be provided from the council fund.
The children’s library established for young children is open to all primary school children under the age of 12.
There is a program that deals with the pre-school education of toddlers. Among the children who line up for various performances, opportunities have been created for their personality development and good behavior by giving merit certificates and donations.
As a healthy community mission, playgrounds and playgrounds have been established. Through reading, a human society full of knowledge and a young generation awakened by mental revival as well as social care will be expected from this.
Public utility services

Under this, public market facilities will be provided for the sale of agricultural products of the local farmers and food crops necessary for people’s life.
For this purpose, Tissamaharama, Debarawewa and Pannagamuwa markets are being maintained, Debarawewa market has been developed under the aid of Puraneguma with stalls for businessmen involved in trade, and Pannagamuwa Public Market, which was built by the Southern Province Rural Economic Promotion Project, has been given crown development allocations. Work is being done to modernize it and hand it over to the people. The new two-storied Tissamaharama shopping complex is also a boon for the trading community.
The maintenance of public buildings owned by the council and street lighting works are also carried out under this program under public utility services.
The main income here is shop rent and land tax. These revenues will be used for the maintenance and improvement of the relevant markets for the benefit of the people.
Physical planning, roads and building services
This program is expected to maintain and maintain the lands, buildings and roads belonging to the local council within the jurisdiction and to carry out the development proposals of the community.
